Uplifted Front Porch & Exterior Refresh
When Scott and Sarah relocated to St. Paul from out of state, their home’s tired exterior didn’t reflect the warmth and character they envisioned. The front porch—once screened-in and significantly sloping away from the house—posed both structural concerns and aesthetic challenges. It was dropping nearly four inches over just six feet, creating an unsettling tilt that needed immediate attention.
Wise Design & Remodel stepped in to reimagine and rebuild the entire front elevation with care and craftsmanship. The porch was completely reconstructed with a new, sound foundation and framing. The overhang, previously unstable and deteriorating, was reframed and structurally secured. To open the space and create a welcoming entry, the screens were removed and replaced with handcrafted railings, wider stairs, and new tongue-and-groove pine paneling on the ceiling.
Every finish was selected with intention. We installed a new front door, a beautiful tile entryway, and LP SmartSide siding with Shell-colored scallop shakes that add a subtle nod to the home’s original character. GAF shingles completed the new roof, while gable accents on the front porch bring dimension and curb appeal to the final design.
This transformation blends structural integrity with elevated design—offering Scott and Sarah a stunning, secure, and lasting first impression for years to come.
